Perched on a narrow lot just one block from the beach in suburban Los Angeles, this innovative four-story residence is designed to optimize the available square footage allowed by local zoning regulations while offering stunning ocean views. The first floor features a garage and foyer, while the second floor includes partially earth-sheltered bedrooms. The main living areas are situated on the third floor to take full advantage of the ocean panorama, and the fourth floor boasts a roof deck and home office. The west-facing view from the living room is further enhanced by an operable glass wall, seamlessly blending indoor and outdoor spaces and creating an airy, open-porch feel.
