Apartment Tower in Guadalajara
Competition Entry – Unbuilt
Location: Guadalajara, Jalisco, México
This competition sought designs for an apartment tower adjacent to an existing park. The proposed tower features three equally-sized apartments per floor, complemented by private garden areas on both the ground floor and rooftop for resident use. A key program requirement was to preserve the historic facades at the street corner, which the design creatively incorporates as part of the garden enclosure. The east-facing apartments are housed within a series of stacked concrete boxes that stagger in alignment at each level, supported by angled steel columns at the base. This structural approach opens up the space below, resulting in a light-filled garden area beneath the new building.
